Notes About The Poem

Autumn Breezes

As autumn breezes bluster, leaves descend
Parading nature's pageantry of hues
The ceremony is the season's cue
To summon Jack Frost and his chilly friends

Jack signals for the snow flakes to begin
While he ice skates on frozen crystal streams
The moon enhances nightly with moonbeams
Fall colors gone, now winter's white transcends

Wrapped in her blankets, Mother Nature sleeps
One autumn leaves the other downy snow
She's dormant in her springtime reverie
And all the while the snow is drifting deep
As winter rages on and blizzards blow
Those autumn breezes turned to Northerlies.

Oh my that picture and write sounds and looks sooooo cold. Autumn here just means cooler air and beautiful colors. I don't know what I would do with a frozen Autumn. Beautiful write Daniel, but chilly. : ) burr, Sharon

Hi Daniel, this is an excelleny Italian Sonnet. I can see so clearly the visions your words create. The content is great, excellent work. The piece flows so gently from beginning to end. Excellent rhyme, every season has its beauty but my favourite shall always be Autumn. I love Autumns pallette. The Autumn breezes bring me to life. I do love all the seasons but Autumn is the one. This write has so much wonderful imagery. You have done really well with this one. Definitely a seven Daniel. Mike

Thank you Jean. It was a booger to write! I'm not much of a winter person either. I love spring and fall the best. Is it summer there yet? It was 95 today. I'll be glad when autumn gets here. I am so happy to see your beautiful smiling face. Here's a kiss for you.XXXX
