Autumn
Slowly, surely
Summer retreats;
Autumn I see
Now simply greets.
Harvest grows full
In happy cheer;
Feel push and pull
Of atmosphere.
Just for a while
Sip and rest here;
Share sanguine smiles
With autumn dear.
The seasons shape
Both rise and fall;
Strange echoes drape
Stray curtain call.
Seek then the flow
Of happy thoughts;
Mingle and glow
What time allots.
Spend time with kin
With easy peace;
Discern true wins
In autumn ease.
Watch the world change
With stoic feel;
Look within range
That strange fond thrill.
Chill in the breeze
Bring shivers cold;
Autumn can squeeze
What time unfolds.
By this old lake
Blue moon beams sink;
Am I awake
In a quaint think?
