As lemonade evaporates in humid haze, Upbeat, the pollen sway, so sweet the starry buds, Good times abound for goldenrod with golden locks! Unwitting sun ferments in glitzy-bitsy blooms, Seductive nectar, Nature’s bubbly, brews a buzz, Two tipsy bees in gold-dust slippers tango dance.

Congratulations, Susan, on managing to turn an otherwise simple Acrostic into a work of art. The mind says that it's easy to write a few lines about August, but there are ways how to do that, and you choose the path of delightful creativity. It is the ease by which you do it that always leaves me in awe. ~ Warm regards and big hugs my friend // paul

I'm absolutely loving the way this flows in a very enchanting and fascinating way.. Your vocabulary is simply ethereal which has created a vivid ambience within these lines.. "Lemonade evaporates in humid haze", "starry buds", " Unwitting sun", "tipsy beas in gold-dust slippers" Wow.. So breathtaking and beautiful, love this.. :)

"Two tipsy bees in gold-dust slippers tango dance." Love it ! Susan what a heady kick you have given me with this single line itself. You have created a filmy world of flowers and bees and a series of related images tumble down one upon another. Like the bees, I too am intoxicated with the nectar from your glitzy- bitzy blooms.

You make an acrostic look like a free verse poem.. your vocabulary is so extensive and that really helps you to write such descriptive poems.. I wonder when you will release your book?

Dear Silent One, your visit is a delight! I'm so glad you like my acrostic, I don't write very many poems in this form but I'm thrilled to know that it reads like free verse, like I had hoped. As for releasing a book, I wouldn't know where to begin with a project like that or if there would be much of a demand for it.. but your faith in my poetry is ever inspiring, thank you, my friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Hi Susan Ashley dearest friend we have Spring and you have Autumn, a beauifully golden season as the leaves on the tree change color from green to a reddish color and eventually drop off having already turned a golden/rusty color, and which carpets the ground. As this August, Autumn season prepares and invites living animals and creatures for the forthcoming perhaps freeze busy bees pile up stocks, for it takes time and effort to be ready for all the mummy and baby bears as they prepare to hibernate for Winter. The two legged variety, human beings have supermarkets to go to whatever season of the year it may be, depending on climate change of course! Congratulations on your win dear talented sis. Lots of love, thoughts and blessings from across the pond, your poetry sis Jennifer.

What an inventive, imaginative Acrostic! The clever word choice ("glitzy-bitsy blooms") and effective alliteration ("bubbly, brews a buzz") give the piece added punch. Congratulations Susan! A winner in so many ways. Be well. Brian

Dear Tom, your comments are a joy to receive. I'm so happy to know you especially enjoyed the last line! Actually, it’s the wind-blown pollen of ragweed (goldenrod’s lookalike) that brings seasonal allergies. Goldenrod’s pollen is not wind-blown (it's sticky and heavy) and is spread by pollinators (butterflies, such as monarchs, and bees) but it still gets a bad rap. Thank you for your gracious visit and kindness, my friend, and Happy August birthday to you! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
