Atrocities
As evidence
In humanity’s witness of
Evil alive…
Evil on its march
To conquer,
To bury
The any-good
In mass graves.
Evil alive, throughout history,
Believing,
There will be no mourning
For the numbers of
Pleading, terrorized dead —
Crushed in the rush of evil —
The spurious, fraudulent power of evil,
Believing
It will face no resistance…
That the arms of all good
Are too weak,
Unwilling and unable to link
For any increased fighting muscle…
Unlike evil’s tsunami of overpowering
Temptations to every unworthy thing.
The atrocities of evil,
With their threats over people
To relinquish
The possibilities of their birthright;
To surrender
Their freedoms, their convictions,and
Their loved ones
To evil’s ends…
Provoking our inner alarms
To stand steadfast, battling in the fire
— with what blessed faith we may have —
In obedience to the commands
For the living good,
Which rides the eternal currents of
All the heavens’ infinite
And interwoven rivers:
Eternal in a countenance of
The created Word of Love
— unrivaled, unwavering, anointed —
Totality and tool
Of all good…Omnipotent,
Declaring judge of
All the warring dimensions of evil.
