At the Movies
‘‘Twas so very long ago.
The lights, the colors, the joy.
Freedom, laughter.
Popcorn but now with distancing?
An arm around my shoulder.
Ah~ I want all those days back.
Wll I ever be free to see?
All those magical creations.
With fellow human beings.
At the movie theater stations!
Lighting up the marquees~
Swing open those doors.
I wish to be whole once more!
No need of a passport to leave my
lovely house.
No forced anything in my body!
No more walking the streets
Like a government mouse.
Just free to go as I please,
Maskless in God’s sweet atumn's
blow!
