at a loss for words

At a loss for words Well not exactly Words are plentiful Thoughts a lesser commodity Dust covered, wall flowers Resigned to their fate Thoughtless Well not exactly Thoughts think About what other thoughts Are thinking Thoughts are like a masquerade ball Concealing themselves In duplicitous deception Masked mayhem Dancing alone Words are like a barn dance Swirling syllables Changing partners To a called cadence Words and thoughts Lethargic lovers Longing for the other To ask May I have this dance.

A belated congrats on your POTD John. A great piece of poetry and so true of people attracted to another and afraid to ask. However your words 'In duplicitous deception' funnily reminds of my latest post though not connected - Hugs Maria

' Words are plentiful. ' So true ! The ending brings a smile. :) I believe words and thoughts enjoy slow dancing. (Well, mine do anyway). Congratulations John, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. :) Hugs, Brandy

John, congratulations on your POTD! Love the personification and your fresh, metamorphic images - "swirling syllables," "lethargic lovers," "wall flowers resigned to their fate" that illustrate your theme of expression through contemplation. Blessings as you refine your thoughts and words! Happy Thanksgiving!

Your words never dance alone and are never out of step. Yes, you may have this dance, and I'll try not to step on your toes. POTD recognition for a poet who deserves it more often than it's given.
