As the World Turns

Deer course the forest's pathways Birds feather their nests high above Ocean's waves lap lazily up onto shore Rocky stars' flickers, particles thereof Traffic jams do not concern them Neither do stock market gyrations Affairs of state are not on their radar Nor are fierce wars between nations The world turns from day to night Sun's rays yielding to pale moonlight Madly, man circles the globe by rail and by air Nature shrugs unimpressed, as if he were not there

Your imagery has filled me with a need to run back outside and play in nature.

You mean that you're normally an 'outside nature-girl' who just runs inside from time to time to read and write poetry?! Whoa! LOL. :) gw

And yet, the world still turns. It has to be exhausted. A fun read.

Ha, ha! What a funny angle, that the world has to be exhausted. Perhaps it's exhausted from watching us run around chasing our tales, going nowhere. Thanks for the interesting thought-provoker! :) gw

Yes, indeed. The birds will tweet, the ocean roar, and the trees conceal their mysteries --- long, long after we're gone. Thank you so much for the positive feedback, Kaveesha! Best wishes, Gershon
