As the Burnt Sun Eases Into the Night

Part Two of Ancient Doubles Poem Poem Doubles (3.) As The Burnt Sun Eases Into The Night From these tranquil hills, let this soul lay bare, the dew-laced meadows so proudly sing, Youth must in its wildest-set-searching play fair For love and life thrives without the gold ring, As the red-burnt sun eases into night darkness comes, grows to be its fearsome mass Therein flows the beauty of dazzling lights Into the skies the sweeping heavens pass This hopeful heart kneels to give sincere thanks for the bread of life and treasure of love As the river runs caressing its banks Nature stands proud smiling at God above. R.J. Lindley, May 5th, 1978 Rhyme ( Wherein Life Learns To Choose Its Destination ) *********** (4.) Life Is All About Living, Not Its End All that night the moon whispered to me you are born of this world, a weaken flesh Life is treasure sought -its gems are not free dream of angels singing and awake fresh Stir gently the flames burning in your heart walk a path of which your soul will be proud Gift the poor old horse, with a lighter cart sing of love's sweet melody, sing it loud Welcome dawn's rays as a dear faithful friend accept its warmth as the earth accepts rain Life is all about living- not its end what matters is not the wealth one attains. R. J. Lindley, May 18th, 1978 Rhyme ( Long Conversation With A Lonely Moon )

(2) You have covered both to perfection here, and not made one any less important than the other. That is what I call the "Balance of the Universe", and the key to a full life. Blessings - nicely done! - the bard

(1) I am thankful for both parts of this dyad, Robert, for so many get so tied up in religion and heaven and the afterlife, that they ignore and even regret the preciousness of LIFE - the greatest gift that we are given, and the ONLY thing we are assured. Faith is important, and the recognition of Grace and heavenly reward, but not to the exclusion of WHY we are given or receive faith in the first place - life, love, and appreciation.

Thank you my friend for both of these comments. You readily see the depths- the soul of this double offering. That is keen poetic insight coupled with the immense poetic talent that you so readily display in all of your poetry. Preciousness of Life and keeping that Balance-- a perfect summation. God bless, Wishing You And Yours A Very Merry Christmas.

My dear friend, all that you hold dear to your heart shines in the light of wonderment and artistry. Optimism, hopes and dreams are beautifully thought upon and exquisitely expressed in appreciation for God and Nature. Even in darkness beauty is found; "darkness comes, grows to be its fearsome mass/Therein flows the beauty of dazzling lights", and it's where higher aspirations are sought in whispers with the moon; "Stir gently the flames burning in your heart/walk a path of which your soul will be proud" The imagery and metaphors are poetic pearls so lavishly stranded. Simply splendid, deep and rich poetry, Robert. Warmest wishes, my inspiring friend.. ~Susan

Thank you my dear friend. I was certain you would see the inner depths of this old poem that was finally released from its prison. I was once a young man full of optimism, hope and the certainty that good prevails over evil. Knowing that Time will eventually vindicate that belief. God bless and Wishing A Very Merry Christmas To You And Yours...
