As the Burnt Sun Eases Into the Night
Part Two of Ancient Doubles Poem Poem Doubles (3.) As The Burnt Sun Eases Into The Night From these tranquil hills, let this soul lay bare, the dew-laced meadows so proudly sing, Youth must in its wildest-set-searching play fair For love and life thrives without the gold ring, As the red-burnt sun eases into night darkness comes, grows to be its fearsome mass Therein flows the beauty of dazzling lights Into the skies the sweeping heavens pass This hopeful heart kneels to give sincere thanks for the bread of life and treasure of love As the river runs caressing its banks Nature stands proud smiling at God above. R.J. Lindley, May 5th, 1978 Rhyme ( Wherein Life Learns To Choose Its Destination ) *********** (4.) Life Is All About Living, Not Its End All that night the moon whispered to me you are born of this world, a weaken flesh Life is treasure sought -its gems are not free dream of angels singing and awake fresh Stir gently the flames burning in your heart walk a path of which your soul will be proud Gift the poor old horse, with a lighter cart sing of love's sweet melody, sing it loud Welcome dawn's rays as a dear faithful friend accept its warmth as the earth accepts rain Life is all about living- not its end what matters is not the wealth one attains. R. J. Lindley, May 18th, 1978 Rhyme ( Long Conversation With A Lonely Moon )
