As I Now Walk Path That Time Will Allow
As I Now Walk Path That Time Will Allow
As I now walk path that Time will allow
Lonely tread, with no high cheers or low bows
A messenger unto Fate's final blow
Victim of youthful vigor I did sow
Tragic poet lost into darker shade
Of shallow bed I have so sadly made.
As I now walk path that Time will allow
Thoughts of those long dead, that were once my pals
Bosom buddies, holy hell we once raised
Our false victories, O' how well we praised
Vanity salute, with no sane thought
Alas! By such hollow words, were we caught.
As I now walk path that Time will allow
Lord of empty ship, life force waning now
With sunset rays gleaming bright, fiery red
Only looming darkness see I ahead
Peeking beyond horizon's cold, hard stare
In poetic verses this soul I bare.
As I now walk path that Time will allow
Verses written to heal and seek I how
To gather true strength to pen all the more
Precious words that hail, sweet paradise shores
Bid I adieu this, dark foreboding plain
Merciful reward, pray I to attain.

Rhyme, ( Far, far beyond that bright red sunset glow )
Note: A heavily edited version of a very old poem,
one that I wrote eleven years ago. Using today's
posting date since well over 50 percent of it is
the new edited verses.
