As I Dream
Sometimes I have the craziest dreams
Other times they are so real, so scary
My favorite ones I’m flying, it seems,
Full of life and adventure, often hairy!
Often, I relive periods of my life past
Nearly always good times I truly enjoy
Wishing those vivid dreams would last,
So I could change methods I’d employ.
Seldom do I dream about my childhood
And I have often wondered about that,
For it was a mixture of bad and good
Never aligning with any normal format.
I love to dream, to go back into my past,
Or plunge headlong into a future realm
Where the possibilities seem so vast
Especially, when I’m at the helm.
The best dreams, always, I am in love
I relive those incredibly happy scenes,
When Deb and I worked hand in glove
Making the most of our meager means.
She is still such a big part of my dreams
And I suppose that will always be so …
I would have it no other way, it seems,
To live again with her now as long ago.
