Notes About The Poem

as the confusion around AI arises, this is my two cents... my voice, as I will always stay original, maybe my ink is imperfect, but my feelings, they are...

Artificial Accolades

I listen to the waves sighing,
like words seized from the weary,
an island that trembles
to the tune of every tide forged
with artificial aquamarines,
like accolades articulated
with aesthetic lies,
misleading the mindless,
ridiculing the rhythm,
as if we are all blindfolded ~
bleeding ballads of the broken,
borrowed from buried poets,
still breathing amidst their demise…

But if only they knew:
imageless imitation never
impressed the Imagists,
the ones who care
not for rhyme’s retardation ~
that sounds like absolute absurdity.

So tonight, as I write
with granite and garnet,
I long for perfumed light
to school the manipulated rules,
claiming to know it all,
sitting in their emptiness,
unaware of neither
        what’s right nor wrong.

I am the unblemished;
I breathe not illusions
embalmed with poison.
I am original ~
a word that no longer is present
in the dictionary of the deceitful…

There is a ring within the origin of your original Being, a cyclone spinning with the splendor of soul primal, electrified heat seeking a signal from divine spark radical, artificial light makes not your glow, the auto pen has no place inbetween your inflamed fingers, you've never mimicked the poetic miracle, the quill of your raw magic bleeds spirit undeniable...J.A.B.

I really like the way you start this excellent poem of yours. Reminds me in some way of Ezra Pound's Canto I. A worthy POTD for a worthy write. Nicely penned! :) john

Congratulations on a quiet sobering POTD Ink, it’s probably best not to worry too much about AI in poetry, they all get found out eventually, on the large scale of things (misleading the mindless) has been around for millennia; Still as poets all we can do is use our own imagination as you have done here, and all in your own original way, cheers David

"I am the unblemished; I breathe not illusions embalmed with poison. I am original " y e s! most of us are originals, although same AI users think we don't know the funky rhymes coming from them are nonsense. Yet, accolades will be given as long as they are given, trophies. Keep up the good fight for real poets, I too council here and there. April 's Blessings~
