Ants Bees and Bonnet

~Bees in my bonnet
This joke my friends aptly conceived
Asleep on the creek, I’m Monett
A favorite bonnet mother weaved
Joke is on me by friends perceived

~Bonnet weaved of dry corn shucks
Fish aren’t biting a snooze in order
Mixing insects and honey sucks
My best friends’ have prank disorder
I'm sleeping to a tape recorder

~Honey in one’s favorite hat
Bees in one’s bonnet and ants in the pants
Honey the bees are trying to get at
Very soon I arose to do twisting dance
It got to be the most awesome prance

~Chance of a dance, disrobe and be bare
This day happened to me Monett
Being bare in spring frigid air
Bonnet in the river I fret
My favorite bonnet I regret

~On the Bayou river
Boys will always be the boys
Fun with friends, they did deliver
The only change is size of their toys
Lost my bonnet in these days of joys

For and in Honor of Carol Brown
And Contest: Favorite Hat or Bonnet

Wow! So witty that you had me laughing out loud, John, thinking of the bees in the bonnets and ants in the pants. I'd just close the contest because nothing can match this! To answer you question, I have not posted my pantuom because it needs to be rewritten yet again. Doubt I'll make it into that contest. But you definitely have a winner here, John! What a jig I'd be doing with the bees and the ants. Love, Carolyn
