I lay down to sleep with the lovely lilts of rain and the soft whisper of wind in my ears At some unearthly hour wakened up from sleep by howls and shrieks I don’t know when the rain and wind turned into a tumultuous roar and why I failed to notice the windows turning on their hinges and the doors snap open and shut When I woke up, I saw the land inundated trees arm twisted and splintered hanging limp in lifeless mass beleaguered by wind's foul game and the leaves still shedding drops of tears! A rather chilling write Valsa. Nature has a way of expressing herself in gentleness and violence. The "...leaves still shedding drops of tears!" is a lovely line! Linda

Mother Nature can be both a surprise and unkind at times. Pleasant beginning, and a terrible rain storm that hurt the trees you care about. Excellent descriptions throughout your poem, Valsa. A good entry for the contest my dear friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

Monsoon sweeps are quite common, yet continue to surprise people, including the weather "experts". Just another reminder to cherish each moment of life before it is swept away! Aloha!

It is the season of winds, rain, and storms--as you so well portray in this lively poem, Valsa. Detailed images convey the wrath of season. Best to you.
