Anticipation
The shopping’s done, the house is clean,
The radio is on.
All is peaceful as it will be
After they have gone.
But I am looking forward to
The bustle in between,
When kids and grandkids, now en route,
Are finally on the scene.
I hope that all goes smoothly
And we have a lot of fun.
Now I sit and watch the clock
Until that time’s begun.
