Anger towards people, a tempestuous art, Echoes through the soul, tearing every part. A shout to pierce the walls of an alienated heart, Yet louder we become, seeking a distant counterpart. Rage fans the flames, tearing the poor heart, Fury ignited, tearing emotions apart. Yet in the inferno, a chance to restart, To communicate with care, mend and chart. When anger boils, and things go astray, Pause the storm, let patience hold sway. Cool the flare, in the calm of the bay, Answers shaped gently, in a serene display. When accused and anger starts to sway, Reflect on actions, don't let it decay. Compromise and mend, find a better way, Let kindness prevail, and resentment allay. Let not resentment bind, nor hatred impale, But channel the anger, let wisdom prevail. Towards resolutions, a positive trail, Guided by wisdom, the ship will sail.

Congratulations Jay for your placement in the poetry contest with a thoughtful poem on anger. There are also other ways to contain anger, such as quitting the scene of anger for a while, taking some fresh air, heaving a deep breath or calling up the inner self to master one`s anger.....Wish you a pleasant and thoughtful weekend. Krishnanand.

So well said Jay. I whole heartedly agree. This is a wonderful poem. Our friendship blew up and I have moved and forgiven but she hadn't so I offered a hand of friendship for us to move on go back to being friends as it was a year ago. She rejected the suggestion. I really felt sorry for her. To have that much anger, but I wont give up.. our day will come. Your words are so true. Wen

wise words about anger, Jay. You've described anger perfectly as well as the aftermath of anger. As a teacher, I had to learn to back away from situations and not let my anger take hold. If I did, the consequences were sometimes insurmountable. Thankfully, I have a 'long fuse' and rarely feel the need to lash out...just doesn't work for me. I can't be that thoughtless and ruthless. Best wishes with the contest and have a great evening, Sara
