Angels In Clouds

Today I found myself at a favorite cafe quite by accident A little place of rough hewn benches placed At the edge of the sea All bent The windows were shuttered and closed but I sat Welcomed by the sight of a peaceful day Watching grebes and pelicans Find fish for breakfast Angels in clouds Their petticoats billowed around them, feet kicking Brewing a storm to their delight, amid giggles Laughter heard on the ground From their tears I get wet The sun parts the clouds to form a window Through which to see the world His rays reach out briefly To caress the waves And me 1st place win Your Choice-Imagist style Sponsor: Brian Strand

Your potent imagery has the power to transport one to this lovely place, Jeanne. I relished your last three lines especially. Congratulations on your wonderful win. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Thanks for your warm wishes. It was a fun one to write too...when the cafe finally opened the waiter who always serves me my coffee, brought me a special one called an Alexander...with cardamon, which he said was for creativity. I can't wait to tell him of the success his coffee brought me.
