Angelica

The sight of newfallen snow. A bright white angel that shines. Her slight halo in shadow. The flurries, soft, on her face. Aloft, doves fly, o’er her confines. She oft flapped her arms of lace. Mother’s intent, dampens joy-thrill. Surrounded by scent of pines. Her slow ascent ‘gainst her will.

Dear Kim, I adore the soft texture of your sensory and emotive imagery and the wonderful rhyme scheme. Though the softness of the overall imagery is balanced by the edge of the last verse and “mother’s (firm) intent” and “her slow ascent ‘gainst her will. A lovely glimpse of a time past. Your poetry always intrigues. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

LOL…thanks, Tom! You too! Still, remember the joy of childhood and the want to stay out longer than mom allowed.
