And Nature Was Happy

On the day she was born
Fields of wheat danced joyously,
like sailors coming home.
Skies hued in pink to
announce a newborn female to the world
The beasts of the wood ran exalting
All of nature celebrated the birth
of this extraordinary girl
God sent down a smile-
dancing birds in a feted swirl.

6th place in the "Heaven Sent Smiles" contest by Carolyn Devonshire.
A tribute to the day of her birth.
