And If I Leave
If I leave
It wasn’t you it was me
Running from a future I couldn’t see
And a heart I couldn’t believe
A man I could never be
And if I leave
Don’t ask me why
I don’t know
I suppose
I’m running from a shadow
That I can’t outgrow
And if I leave
It’s better for you
I could tell you not to cry
But you’ll cry
I’ll be crying too
But when the tears dry
We can start over new
And if I leave
Remember who I was
A man who was not yet a man
Yet a man in love
And if I leave
I leave in pain, in shame
Knowing things won’t be the same
But with everything that’ll change
Who I am remains in me
I love you in advance
Just in case I leave
