Anchorage

He has the faith of not belonging to anything, a rootless thief who shifts and steals from one brief moment to another without a culture of his own. Adrift forever tying knots to seal an anchorage not belonging to God, to family or to the land itself with its peculiar heritage. Ageless, adrift, alien and alone forever searching for something familiar to know: familia, a household fames, he dwells. note: fames is the Latin for famine, hunger.

At first I looked at the title of your poem and thought you were writing about Anchorage, Alaska. Then I saw your last name. Are you related to Corliss Kimmel of Anchorage, Alaska? If you answer no to the last question, I apologize for the intrusion. I enjoyed reading your poem. The anchor that adrifts as if a person without ties. Very well written. ~ Sonia
