An Old Chunk of Glass

Random trinkets tossed into a box Costume jewelry, or so they thought, Came a jeweler with a loup, a sly fox Sorted junk, for a treasure he sought With luck he hit paydirt this fine day He found a genuine ruby, rather large, Passed over like an old chunk of glass Showing it to the estate lady in charge She hissed, “as marked!” with no class, He bought the ruby for what she asked Upon leaving he whispered “kiss my a**,” It was a bargain quite unsurpassed. I love estate sales - always grabbing up some gaudy bauble never knowing if it is "real" or "not real" and not caring. You can tell I am not a jeweler!

Wonderful story told with a humorous ending lol. My father had jewelery business on the side. People were always impressed with gold It never impressed me. I do not know why. This one brought back memories...
