An Ode To An Exit: Wham! Bam! Thank You Slam! ( a Narrative: Part 3)
2: SLAM verb: SLAMMED; SLAMMING 1.) to strike or beat hard.
2.) to shut forcibly and noisily: BANG 3.) a: to set
or slap down violently or noisily. b: to put or set hard.
4.) to make a banging noise. 5.) to criticize HARSHLY.
Now,
There is another way
To look at this verb.
Either you're slamming
Or getting slammed,
Like you deserve.
This enthusiasm must not be curved,
Because sometimes
Words
Need to be used
To disturb.
Sometimes words
Need to be used to strike;
To be used
When you choose
To say "TAKE A HIKE!"
Take your bike,
And, while you're at it,
Take this spike,
Because we
Are free
To say whatever we like!
The words,
That we slam,
Are rather hard to beat.
The words,
That we slam,
Are rather hard to greet.
Will make you take your seat,
Because they are hard to eat,
And these words
Are rather hard to defeat.
They are so hard,
That they will never be barred!
So hard,
That they could never be scarred!
And, they are so hard
That they will always stand guard,
So go ahead,
And play all of your cards.
Forcibly and noisily,
Your mouths will be shut.
So your words
Will have to turn and burn
In your guts.
You know what!
Don't even waste your time
Trying to strut,
Since steel sharpens steel,
Step to us and get cut!
Don't look now,
But my sights have been set.
You might regret
The WORDS,
That WE don't even get,
But WORDS,
That you fret,
Will forever be in our debt.
Really,
This is silly.
I did not even want to snap,
But I could not ignore your crap,
When in our faces you slap!
This opportunity
To choose a side,
Just fell in my lap.
So,
Into my full potential,
I will tap,
Making it
Officially a wrap.
Since you
Already made your decision,
Please
Go ahead
And circulate your petition!
Because,
After you create this division,
You should prepare yourself
For a serious collision!
Being targeted
Must be tough.
But, before you decide
If you want to call my bluff,
I have a question,
That just might be rough:
"Do you think that 'YOU' are being criticized 'HARSH' enough?"
