I met him (my true love) one summer day,
oh, I thought he was the most handsome man;
he asked for a walk and I said okay,
soon our love began.
We liked all the same things,
reading, nature and poetry that sings;
so, before long we were shopping for rings,
we married in snow, I wore a white fur.
That day is a sweet blur,
still it makes a tear stir;
we were happy and our life we planned,
oh, yes it was going to be so grand.
Forever you promised to hold my hand,
beloved you did not stay;
but are a name upon,
I open the old gate and come to pray.
Then, I turn leaving a red love rose on,
stone- where heavenly angels guard on wings;
this love an incomplete blur,
and death too soon for this man.
