An Image In a Bottle

The drunk fell back and tumbled over garbage cans, not amusing as he dropped like a stone. His arms tightened as he tried to brace for impact, Oh, what a disgrace, and it’s more than just a matter of fact. A howl of pain roared into his ears, his muscles cramped, and he was dizzied and breathless, as he stayed underneath a broken street lamp. He stunk so badly as he staggered to get up, not looking for composure, just something for his cup, dime, nickle, penny, just anything for another drink, as his life sinks, and sinks. He drinks and he drinks, can’t see it after it’s done, and when your drunk, where’s the fun? Children run away from you, just like he did when he saw a drunk while growing up, so if you need more change, shake that cup. He’s just an image in a bottle, people ignore you, they just ignore you, because of you, and it becomes so bad, sometimes sad, your shoes stolen, wallet missing, some of your good teeth on the ground, heart skipping when the bottle is empty, your loved ones are not around. Shake that cup, shake that cup, because when you drink, you’re drunk, so shake that cup... Bottoms up!
