An English Man of Arabia

An English man proved salvation's worth, even in desert's unforgiving scald. In life 'nothing is written' in the Earth, Lawrence of Arabia he was called. He rode alone to rescue a stranger, from scorching devil's anvil sun-scoured sand. Judged and shot the same man plucked from danger, now killed to stave off tribal blood feud band. Do not wish to walk in another's shoes, for you never know just where they have been. Content with what you have, yet still could lose, and glad unwanted fates remain unseen. An English man proved salvation's worth, even in desert's unforgiving scald.

Not knowing what they've been through I don't know if I could walk in another man's shoes. But it was a great deed that Lawrence of Arabia did ride to rescue that person. I am not very verse with sonnets either , all lines Rhyming , Couplets, and Quatrains, and Anapestic Tetrameter. all confusing to me especially the Anapestic Tetrameter. Thank you for your constant support.

"Do not wish to walk in another's shoes, for you never know just where they have been." These lines remind me of "Taste your words before you spit" . Superbbb lines :)

"Do not wish to walk in another's shoes, for you never know just where they have been." - I wish everyone in the world would think of this before a word came out of their mouth.

We can watch the movie of his life but it was taken one step at a time. Best not to see what is ahead. Nicely done!

I love this. The history of that man's journey is epic incredible. Lovely ILMO to your Mum, I wonder if she loved that story, what the connection is. Before the history books, I learnt about Lawrence through that 60's movie with O'Toole and Sharif. Good luck with the contest.

Lady Labyrinth, This poem is for William Kekaula's contest in memory of his Mother. I could find no better reason in the world to take part. Sonnets, though..."(>> 00 <<)". Peter & Omar complemented each other's special talent to give us a truly epic film. -Richard

Richard, It's a start. I'm still trying to learn the Sonnet form. 14 lines with 10 syllables on each? Ouch. Couplets, and Quatrains, and Anapestic tetrameter, oh my(!) -Richard
