An Autumn Memory
A ballad plays soft meloncholy blue
Amid a treasure of red gold and maroon
An Autumn evening had birthed a harvest moon
as the winds kicked up in a song of Gods truth
Reflecting like a mirror
I looked back upon a day
When the Summer winds sang of glory
And we found a sunlit way
As the earth slowly turns and shadows dance a dance unrehearsed
A pitter-patter of crystal raindrops falls upon my tin roof
Reflecting a day so vivid and clear
As I light a candle as if you were here
As I peer from my window calling
out to my youthful days
A soft piano sonata plays in a shadow of grey
