An Answer I Long To Know

Would you still love me knowing I feel so alone and completely forsaken? For I am but a lonely woman needing more than life can offer. Would you still love me if I fell to my knees weeping out of remorse? For I am but a dismal being longing to be held without restraint. Would you still love me if you saw me weak and feeble, lost and irresolute? For I am but an empty body craving another existence; one that would offer love. Would you still love me when I am old and grey? Yes, I’d still be sequestered. For I am but a deathly mortal that fears but one thing… the loss of NOTHING BUT YOU.. Wow! I am really taken with the show of strength and honesty in your compelling stanzas. By that I mean: Only the brave can unpeel their layers of weakness one by one and finally, 'stark-naked,' still ask for love... Another point: Deep down inside, somewhere, if we are honest with ourselves, we are frail, weak creatures. We merely don the garments of strength in order to survive in the jungle called 'civilization.' Bravo. A FAVE for me. Holiday Happiness! ~ Gershond

These questions you ask, Lu, are ones I often ask myself. It's hard to overcome feelings of insecurity and yours is one of the best entries I've read. Congratulations on your win in Edward's contest. Merry Christmas, Carolyn
