An Adieu To My Lady Love

My lady is the wind’s soft sigh through fields of marigolds in June; a splendid sunset in July; a tranquil August lullaby. She waltzes to a rhapsody which lingers in my memory. When months of Winter’s chill ensue, I’ve bid my Lady Love adieu. Sept 1, 2020 for Line Gauthier's Bite Size Poem No.39 Poetry Contest

Congratulations, Andrea! I love all the metaphors you compared "My lady" to! They are beautiful references, and then you closed by creating a parallel between the winter chill being somewhat of an ending or goodbye to the good times. Excellent, as always! Much love...Meghan

Andrea - I was so happy to find out this was yours ... this is just exquisite verse, and while I usually read the poem these are taken from, I don't think I want to with this, because it is just so beautiful on its own! Theme, metre, rhyme, flow, phrasing, word-use - you knocked it out of the park, and this one stood clearly above the rest. Nicely done, my friend - this is going into my faves!! Thanks for entering - this is GORGEOUS! :o) <3

Andrea, I really love this. This is so beautiful. You really are in command here. This is the kind of poetry I strive for but don't have the talent to make it happen. This is Poem of the Year stuff. Luv, Bryan
