"Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs"-
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs
that dance upon this grassy shawl which covers you,
such fond, sweet memories of joy, for me, arouse
my shadowed thoughts of total love- so simply true.
I come and stand here often, as the sun sets low,
recalling how I closely-held you in my arms.
Your loving eyes spoke feelings in their gentle glow.
Oh, how I miss your presence and engaging charms.
Beneath this ancient tree- the soothing, quiet breeze
uplifts bare limbs that sway in paying homage to
those full, devoted years you gave your love with ease-
the kind I could depend on- staunch and impromptu.
Through memories of my dear Charlie Cat, I browse-
amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs.
