Amid the Jagged Shadows

NOVEMBER 26, 2019 "Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs; " Samuel Taylor Coleridge Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs All I see is the image you left behind in the wind that blows I’m sorry I didn’t notice the change in your smile or how your eyes grew dim But I know I was in denial because the thought of losing you was so grim I can hear angels sing and bells ring all around for you And as the music resounds, I feel empty and blue I miss your touch like being in my mother’s arms when she would gently sway And memories of your laughter are like a cool breeze on a hot summer’s day When I close my eyes and travel back in time, my loss is somehow not real And for that to be true, and for a moment with you, I tell the devil I will make him a deal For I have nothing to lose -- I am like a lost soul in search of her home But without you as my shining beacon all I can do is endlessly roam As I bend down to place a rose, I can only think of when we will meet again And as a tear rolls down my face, I feel nothing for the world but disdain Then I hear someone say you are in a better place, and for that I should have gratitude But at this time those words to me are nothing more then an empty platitude For I miss you my dear friend As I feel like my world is coming to an end Amid the Jagged Shadows

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
