Amid Drizzle

Written: May 3rd, 2024

                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We twirled amidst the falling rain,
Flowing locks, dripping with freedom.
A gentle touch, our hands entwined,
As we traversed the highways of our lives,
it vanished from view as our eyes met
smiled and gently kissed our worries away.
leaving our reflections
                                        behind
Listen to the rain's gentle song tonight
Feel the tears, they're mine,
Whispering gently on your rooftop.
unrestrained.
Dear Sotto, the poignant power of your poem cannot be overstated. The last four lines are a potent soulful turn that I didn't expect amid an elated romantic reminisce. Your poem moves from past to present.. and heartache melts from the page to deeply touch my heart and soul. Your imagery and metaphors are quite moving. Congratulations for POTD honors.. a worthy and well deserved choice, my poet friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
Congratulations, Dear Poet, on your POTD. Enjoyed the idea of romance amidst falling rain...the best part to me is the ending stanza - rain whispering on the rooftop!
SP, the way you equate the drizzle with the tears (hopefully tears of joy) is remarkable. You are so insightful and I have to say the use of rain in the poem delights. TY
So sad, Lasaad, yes with the raining and all, except you know it's Hawaii, eh, but it should be for such a skilled writer that you are, making Penn State proud. My hat's off to you my Philly friend with your POTD win, enjoy the glory of the moment. Aloha, William
