Always

When sun rises each morning I think of what the day will bring Inside these walls that contain my life there is an emptiness For all the joy has left and here I stand waiting For the day to bring me purpose for the wind to bring me joy The second hand on the clock counts off yet another hour Spent within this existence that is bereft without you For nothing seems to awaken my curiosity For no one could animate me like you The blue skies cloud over and I stand in the mist and rain Letting the drops wash over my face to hide my ever present tears For you left and took all my laughter For you left and in the bags that you packed your things You took not just pieces but my whole heart.
