Always
(always)
When I sat down here at the park,
I wanted to write and waited for a spark.
But the day is too lovely to not look around.
It distracts me from making my pen sound.
I was thinking about you, as I occasionally (always) do,
And how you would appreciate this sky of solid blue.
I wanted to write something specific to you.
But my mind was blank; all thoughts flew.
So I settled to let flow out whatever would from this ink,
And it just so happens to reflect what I occasionally (always) think.
I look up to see your eyes and gaze about to see your soul
Though you are not here, I see you in creation as a whole.
It's truly a perfect day, with the sun and it's rays
Coupled with the breeze that over my skin plays.
And so it is as I occasionally (always) find
You have set up camp deep in my mind.
And despite the fact you are 700 miles away
I can see all that is your beauty when given moments like today.
In the elegance of the flower; the lively playfulness of the air,
I catch glimpses of the glory that you occasionally (always) wear.
I'm sure you know to you my thoughts occasionally (always) wander
And the more I know you, my heart grows occasionally (always) fonder.
