All Moods Have Changed
Listen to poem:
Happy New Year to all!
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!
What darkness
has come down on us!
Smiles have faded
from faces that shined
through the Holiday Season!
What is missing are those hugs
that can't be given; wasn't yesterday
a magical time to meet friends,
who came from far away
and spoke with the innocence of kids?
Weren't their words more cheerful
than they are now?
We looked out of the window,
glad to gaze upon the soft snow!
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!
All moods have changed,
we look away with worry...
thinking of the losses;
sadness will not go away:
until Jesus becomes small
and will bring us
His divine comfort:
shouldn't we greet Him
with the cheerful notes
of our trumpet?
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!
John was worse than Scrooge...
he hated Christmas,
now, see him giving gifts
to children of all races:
he surely deserves praises!
Tom has spread a table
for the hungry...
doesn't he make
everybody happy?
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!
All moods have changed,
all pleasures
have been taken away;
wearing a mask
makes us breathe hard
in the day!
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!
Welcome to the era of fear
and endless blues!
P.S. I have written the music to the lyrics.
