The title of this poem refers to a popular song, recorded in 1928 "All By Yourself in the Moonlight". It was performed by Jack Smith - if interested, you can find it on youtube.

You have no will to say a word Hence I’m not “too much”, cause unseen I don’t stand a chance to be heard When I speak to the silent screen Last night a full moon rose It shone through my window pane Personifying a song you chose I was all by myself once again Knowing there’s nothing to wait for I sat till quarter to three Until the rain start to pour Like it was staged to be.
