All-Nighter
Eyes watch like birds,
Crowding the walls
As the carpet moves around the room.
They stare and the ceiling creeps closer,
Reaching to grab me with its pattern,
The fan trying to catch itself.
Spiders creep along the side of my bed,
Millions of points of view for the hive mind.
Lights streaming through the windows
Calling my name,
And the laughter of cars as they move along,
Burning the asphalt.
The sounds in my head are searing my mind,
And invades every gap,
Until the walls finally touch
And the loop starts again.
