Alice and Me

Now Freddie Mack
And Sallie Mae
Live in a shack
Their debt obligation collateralized
Advanced state of deception
But let's keep going
Short of cash, broke
Like all the US banks
Running out of money
In this surreal free for all
Where barking dogs
And screeching cats
Testify before Congress
Watched by sane observers
On the shore
With manicured nails
And fresh pressed dresses
Who stare at us with
Glazed hard marble eyes
While they lose their homes
This exertion
Reduced us to tatters
With all the rest of the mad hatters
Who cry for government guarantees
Beg for automobile subsidies
While looking for Alice, we lost our jobs
Running from the disenfranchised mob
