ALAN DRIVING IN DROGHEDA 2010
Frosty night going home
In my red 99 Corolla 1.3 hatch (no chrome)
Sign ahead says Drogheda 5
Still a long way to drive.
Motorway break, need pit-stop.
Sitting there parked near shop:
Toilet, coffee - nothing nicer;
Most important - a can of de-icer.
Drain coffee give it a last stir.
Start her easy, listen to purr.
Into first, then it struck me -
And here you’ll probably agree -
About Drogheda I must admit
My favourite thing is the road out of it.
