Agony and Joy
Joy and Agony gossiping over a cup of tea:
Joy with proud demeanor claimed
“I am a title, I am a feast
And I shall never perish as I wrestle feeble beasts
I am uplifted and crowned anew
When cheerless souls claim my hue
The wiser man showed me the way
The sadder man sought me night and day
And all have fallen under my touch
Like a bee at the nectar’s sweet forbidden touch”
Agony with sin and shame spoke of his existence’s fame:
“I am the ally, I am the beacon
I serve, I warn, I guide the rich and the forsaken
And Like the balance that tilts its burdened head
I am found where reason has painfully sinned
True, I while my time not in the sun but the shade
But why, without me, there would be no need for thee”
