Agatized Memory

Straw sandals
White sand
Holding each thunderstorm
cupped in my hand
Burnt on the beach
by my own strong command
Crisp in my view of the sea.
Agatized coral
Pocketed salt
tumbled and frothed
from the depths born anew
Pressured by currents
'till crystal shards grew
soon to be baubles in windows
I take the shore home
each time I visit
I fleece the beach
for a memory trinket
Winter defiant
Sunburn triumphant
I am a figment of sea tides and ebb.
