After the Hurricane

like a marauding wolf pack on the prowl, hurricane shook the earth with its fierce howl! trees uprooted block the town traffic flow, shattered glass pieces litter streets below, the Sun shines today on a clear blue sky, asking man to “give life another try”! as crowds emerge to make their daily way, life must go on, must work to earn their pay, puddles of water, debris fill the street, but these humans will not accept defeat! for eons been a contest of courage, against force of nature man had to wage, year on end unceasing been earth’s fury, but spirit of man has brought victory! hurricane has hurled fresh devastation, wrecked homes, a further cause of vexation, but flesh and bones will not easily yield, they will rise again! their belief their shield!! After the Hurricane contest sponsor Craig Cornish written 30/10/2020 18 lines, 10 syllables each ( poetry soup syllable counter)
