Listen to poem:
After I Sleep, After I Sleep
This happens just beyond you know,
A field of pleasure and delight,
Where frost once held and now let free,
Need I of sleep, so I must go.
Think different should I remain,
To set my sights, a righteous glee,
A measured gift of wondrous hope,
Yet, this event, I must abstain.
Fortuitous, my soul needs rest,
Grant me my eyelids that I cope,
For fear what might return is snow,
So journey on, methinks tis best.
Arriving at my household door,
My chambered bed awaits once more,
I drift to angels harps galore,
Just to awake from shallow snore.
