After Forever
Yesterday
is all but a memory lingering on the threshold
of the today that quickly slips and slides uncontrolled
with markings on the clock as time unfolds.
In Today's Now
the days seem long and stretched tout
the sun comes late and leaves early on its route,
and daylight is like a brief candle, blown out.
Tomorrow
there is that anticipation of its arrival,
the wonder of the unknown survival
the promises of what yet can be vital.
After all
the yesterdays, todays and tomorrows
what else could release us from our joys and sorrows
living in our dreams and hopes that pass in time's hollows?
After Forever
waits the unseen, unheard, unkown;
life's beauty never forged alone
in each and every future embrace owned.
