Afraid of Forever

He says he'll never let me go I say well you never really know two peoples lives that once were intertwined can suddenly start to reject and just as easily eject he says he likes me too much for this issue to occur I say well honey you never know what the future will hold He held me tighter as if by saying this it meant I wanted to let go Honestly while he was holding me in this aggressive way It made me ponder if things would always be this way He says well be together forever Something about that statement caused me to stir I demanded how do you know we won't fall out of love He tried to stammer out an explanation but I didn't let him I said so what if I get fat? He said I like my woman better like that I said what if I cheat? He said well make it work like a lot of people do Finally I shouted this is an unreasonable expectation Forever is not something that my vocabulary is familiar with Yes people last for a very long time But the concept of forever is something I can't exactly grasp So your saying you want to be with me forever? Through the rain and the storms Your saying well get through them together? All he did was nod his head and I packed my clothes and went home to my own bed. This man is insane I thought to myself.
