Adrift
And I thought about you more each time
Each time I find myself abroad and adrift
Constantly moving and leaving all else behind
Yet I ponder... If all else I truly leave
Perhaps it's memories that kept me as a person
Sane and intact... Alive and supposedly well
Will tomorrow I find another survival reason?
Or will yesterday be enough... withheld?
In and out into different worlds not so different
Is there really so much more to see?
Seem so much yet nothing more was learnt
Rather, it's a timeline that we misconstrue differently
Where the sun shines... my shadow follows
Quietly with yet an assuring sense of comfort
Some time I need somehow find to borrow
Aloofness, adrift, a wanderer to never be heard
And in each of time, I thought about you
Whenever I find myself adrift abroad
Leaving all else behind, all I ever knew
For a tomorrow with you I solemnly sought
