Adorned and Adored

Adorned and Adored Let us adorn our daughters with pearls! Gifting One pearl — so very dearly ocean-made, fresh… To dress each earlobe With a radiant luster, Emphasizing the spirited Life-light In her glinting, mesmerizing eyes… Then, gather your heart To proudly place a string Of one or some pearls Around your daughter’s so-familiar neck To lay — more precious and worthy than diamonds — Just below her delighting smile.

I had a son and waS ecstatic, especially after having lost my first baby who was also a boy, I just thanked God I had a healthy baby. However i see my two year old grand daughter is taking an interest in my bangles and necklaces so hope i will be able to adorn her shortly as I do adore her. A GREAT WRITE SALLY! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Sally, so happy to see you writing again. From young days, I used to prefer girls to boys. I have two sons and still I miss a daughter to dress her up and gift her with pearls to see the female vanity making her lips curl into a smile. Beautiful poem, dear friend.

Some pearls are more expensive than diamonds. My late wife loved them.

Sally, it's an interesting choice of the precious object to use. You got me curious, and I was looking at the published symbolism for pearls. They have a rich depth of meaning. You created a poem that teaches us something about honor in the way we look at our daughters. Smiles to you!!!

Dear Sally, Oh, you have beautifully captured the tender love between parent and daughter. I loved how your pearls symbolize preciousness and growth. For me, they evoked the cherished bond and the bittersweet joy of watching a daughter blossom. I have three daughters and also three granddaughters and your poem touched my heart. Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daneil

Well, David, hello! Truthfully, most truthfully, we’ve 2 adopted sons, which has turned out sadly since they were little boys & brothers when adopted & birth mom came when they were late teens, & took them.back, telling them adoption wasnt legal. Untrue! THUS like U,,, I wrote this (my alsoo as a Most Loved daughter) referencing the Love I KNOW God feels 4 us & DEEP love i have for my dog Gigi - close to feeling, i imagine, like daughter i never had who is now 13 & i think i may die when she dies…There U have it…the stuff only Poetry can handle… hugs 4 you David! Your response was in same vein as this poem was felt…too w/all women being daughters. xox
