Addiction Took

The things addiction took from me
My Lord
My family
My goals
My career
My friends
My self- esteem
My self- respect
My pride
My compassion
My mind
My heart
My soul
My freedom
&
My health
Addiction took everything from me
I thank you Lord for another day clean

Another fantastic write, Michael. This form would seem easy, but it takes a lot to bare this part of your soul for all to see. Kudos, my friend! And, congratulations for five years!! Donna G.

My dear Michael, this is such a powerful message delivered point blank. Anyone reading it knows without-a-doubt it is the truth. God bless you! for writing it and for having the courage to re-claim what is rightfully yours - all of the things that addiction took for you. You are a Prince. Love, Lainie

Hello Michael, I was in a similar situation with addiction many, many years ago. I wrote a poem regarding the addictive ride. I really like your poem because it gets to the heart of what addiction does to us all. Best Wishes, continue your good writing, hope to see more. Jack
