Addiction

Often in a trap of seasons
the poet is snared; appealing
celestial beams and rings, moves him further
out than in. Here and there, everywhere,
the poet a wanderer by nature, an avid
romantic his fond feature – a cook of sorts,
his mainline~ chemical verse.

Brevity can be a sign of greatness. In most of the writing, I cut out all the words I theme unnecessary -- no mere colorful fillers. But, to your point, I often write an entire page or two, and then whittle away till a couple of verses. Writing is thinking...connecting.

Had a lot more fun than i expected when reading a poem titled “Addiction”. I admit to losing a lot of time when working on a verse.
