The Bell
Invented by John Anderson. an elongated version of a Cinquain. It has 9 lines and a rigid syllable count of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 8, 2, 1, respectively. Usually presented with center alignment and should end with a counter-point, or surprise (the hammer), after the 'argument' is developed and built-up with the longer lines.

When vague ghosts and spectral mists manifest fully clothed garbed in period dress or suit; my one question is, why aren't they naked? Human beings have a soul but clothes have none. (The Bell) 6/22/2021

Excellent question; excellent point, Emile. I never thought of that before. The burial garments, even if pertinent, would have rotted away like the flesh.
